Wondering if its possible to grow dragon fruit on the central coast of california...?

i live on the central coast and was wondering if its possible to successfully grow a dragon fruit cactus and how i would go about it. ive never had a cactus before so i dont know what kind of soil i would need or if i need to put it in an green house. whats the cheapest way to get it growing right and healthy ??...
