Anyone else boil water without covering the pot? My spouse thinks I'm an idiot for not knowing to cover it?

If you cover a pot of boiling water while making noodles or any pasta, if you cover the pot, the pot will boil over before the noodles are done and make a mess all over the stove. I never cover a pot when boiling water. So one way may be a few micro seconds faster, that is not worth making someone feel down on them selves. Just tell Mr Know It All that he might be smart but he certainly is no gentleman
