What do you boys mean when you say "Awww"?

(Anyone can answer) I have a guy friend and we've known each other for a year now and he's always staring off the conversation and talks to me like we're dating sometimes and then adding a smiley face at the end of a sentence and I once told him "I love you" by accident and he responded by saying "Awww". And he's basically told me that I'm his type and he likes me more than a friend and he would kiss me if I let him, which I would.
