I'm having a Moulin Rouge birthday party & I need some inspiration?!?

I've got until the start of may to organize but I'm the kind of person who likes to know things are totally sorted in advance, especially as it's going to be a big thing. It's only my 19th birthday but my boyfriend decided he wants to rent out the bar he works in since he can get A LOT of money off (I'm talking like �40/50 for the venue, about the same or a little over for the DJ etc) which means we have more money than we thought left for decorations. Obviously it's a costume party & luckily most of my guests are very into musicals & dressing up so they know the movie well so there will be no problems there. I haven't got a clue with the decorations though!! The bar has really kool coloured lighting anyway so that will help set the scene & as long as I pay for the decorations & put them up myself they're not bothered about whats there. Obviously the first thing that came to mind was red fabric, feathers & rhinestones but I'm really not sure what to do, or where to go with it. Any ideas? I'm a student so I can't really fork out like �100 just for decorations. I'm also putting some up in my flat where we'll be pre-drinking & getting ready, they'll most likely be left overs from the bar though. Any ideas would be appreciated, I'll stop rambling now :] Thanks! x
