About Dixie Chicks' "not ready to make nice"?

I think that this part of the song still fits in with the rest. You are right about what the song is about. The first two lines are about people telling them to just get over it and move on and stuff. And the third and fourth line is about how this incident has changed their entire lives in many ways, but they are not going to change or "make nice" because they like how they are sticking to their guns and are not going to forget about what happened or get over it. They like how this has changed their whole world and aren't going to make nice just because you want them to.
